We Remember Haley

I adopted Haley Aguirre from the Carrollton Humane Society on Feb 13, 1995 and lost her on March 1st, 2008. She battled Cushings disease but was later diagnosed with cancer.

She was gentle and loving through the end. I miss her terribly and will always miss her. She quickly became my family and won many hearts.

We Remember Max

Our Max (Turkey) left us on the morning of February 23, 2006.  He was 16 years old.  We had the honor of rescuing him 14 years ago.  Max a Min-Pin was very close to being put to sleep before we rescued him.  You see they were having a hard time finding a family that could handle such a little dog with a huge personality! Max was a handful from day one but we loved him no less.  Max had been diagnosis with diabetes last June and over the last few months he had lost his eye sight.  This past week his little kidneys just could not work any more.  Though it was a very hard decision we decided that Max did not have a quality life any more.  We did not want him to suffer any more than he had too.

So on Feb. 23, 2006 we helped him to arrive in heaven peacefully.  Max is now in heaven with Sabre and Tasha, and we are sure that he is having fun chasing all the squirrels!  We will miss Max with all our hearts and wait for the day to see him again.

  "When The Time Comes"

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done,
For this, the last battle, can’t be won.

You will be sad I understand,
But don’t let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn’t want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where my needs they’ll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end,
And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree,

It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don’t grieve that it must be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do;

We’ve been so close, we two, these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.
